Drag a coloured knob up or down, or scroll the mouse wheel over it. On screen, the shift key stays down until you click it again.
Synth or drum, then keys 1 to 8 pick a sound. T1 is the engine, T2 the envelope, T3 the effect, T4 the LFO. The four knobs change the four coloured things on screen.
Shift + T1 picks another engine, shift + T3 another effect, shift + T4 another LFO. Press T3 again to switch the effect on and off. Arrows move the octave. Shift + a sound key copies the current sound to that slot.
Sampling: press mic, allow the microphone, then hold a key while you make a noise. Or drop an audio file on the page.
Tape, pick a track with T1 to T4, press record then play, and play. Stop when done. It always overdubs. Blue scrubs, white is tape speed, orange is record level.
Arrows rewind and fast forward, shift + arrows jump a bar, stop twice goes back to the start. Lift, drop and split cut and paste takes. Shift + split joins. Shift + lift lifts all four tracks.
Keys 1 to 8 in tape mode: loop in, loop out, loop on or off, break, reverse, chop, memo 1, memo 2. Shift + tape then T1 to T4 wipes the tape.
Mixer: T1 levels (shift for pan), T2 EQ, T3 master effect, T4 drive and balance. Tempo: blue sets BPM, orange the metronome, tap the key for tap tempo.
Sequencer: shift + sequencer picks one of endless, pattern, tombola, finger, sketch or arpeggio. Hold shift and play keys to write notes, then hold a key to run it, or turn orange up for hold.
